What do you think about Obama suing Illinois for wanting only a postcard to register vote?

April 30, 2010 - 8:16 pm 5 Comments

Also in 1995, Obama sued, on behalf of ACORN, for the implementation of the Motor Voter law in Illinois. Jim Edgar, the state’s Republican Governor, opposed the law because he believed that allowing voters to register using only a postcard would breed widespread fraud.

There has been fraud people, pay attention.

Fraud out of ACORN HAS HAPPENED!!!!!

When are the results of early voting going to be officially released?

Are they counting them now or do they wait until election day? Are absentee ballots counted now? Do they have to wait until the polls close?

they actual early voter numbers will be released after the election. after the polls close.

absentee ballots are counted last.

How does Obama do in polls versus at the voting booth; by history in the primaries against Clinton?

In the news tonight there is discussion that in New Hampshire and some other states, Obama polled to a ten point lead but lost by 5 percent.

Could it be that his 5 to 6 point lead in polls in some swing states is really a figment of popularity that wanes or is going with the excitement or flow of the moment but not serious support?

I think Obama will win by a lot more then the polls are currently showing. They can’t poll us younger voters who are more for Obama since most of us only use cell phones. Therefore the pollsters are missing a large portion of the population in their tallies.

Who will the groups that pollsters never poll, vote for?

% obama % mccain
2% 98% european ethnic immigrant groups
1% 99% asian ethnic immigrant groups
5% 95% caucasian segment of the "ARCHIE
BUNKER" GROUP
1% 99% people who had to move to outlying areas to
escape violence and crime of cities in large
metropolitan areas
the "pollsters" (who are paid to create a leader who the naive will follow and vote for as part of a "bandwagon effect") dont dare poll these groups separately. After all, the persons who pay the pollsters want the pollsters to report their candidate as the leader of the "bandwagon"
so the naive will simply :"follow the leader".
Thats how the new hampshire primary became so important.

I was polled 6 times, and every time I told them I was voting for Obama. You have to, or you can’t get rid of those pollsters. I am however, voting for John McCain.

I got a polling card telling me where i’m supposed to vote but i don’t know if i’m registered?

(UK only, i’m in England not America so don’t say anything about America!)

I vaguely remember sending a form, or maybe just filling out a form sometime last year regarding voting. If i did then i can vote, but if i didn’t, waiting in a queue to vote for ages wont be good.
How the hell am i supposed to know if i can vote? I need to see a list. The last day for registering was a few days ago! oh no help

Also, if i’m not registered, or if no one gives me a good answer & i just don’t bother, even if i am, when’s the next time i’ll be able to vote?
Is this done every year? Or every 5? …

Receiving a poll card means you’re on the register, as only people on the register get one. (There’s not much point telling people there’s going to be an election if they can’t vote in it!) The poll card has your register number on it.

It seems clear to me that the form you filled out last year was the annual canvass form, which is sent every autumn to every household in the country. The electoral register is re-compiled every year from these forms.

If you want to see a list, then you can ask to see it at your local council or possibly at a local library (in my area it’s available at the main borough library). But honestly, I wouldn’t bother. The poll card proves you ARE registered.

Can I vote without my voter registration card?

I seem to have misplaced it and I’m not sure if it is required or not. Thanks!

It depends on your area, many areas don’t require you to have yours. You can call your Board of Elections for your area to check. Follow the link and select your state for the phone number to call. :^)

Do they do background checks when you register to vote in a local election?

April 30, 2010 - 8:16 pm 4 Comments

I have a bad check I haven’t been able to pick up and there is a warrant for me. I will do this when I get the money but I don’t think I will have it before the deadline to register to vote. The bad check is not in the state I live.

No

But I would not be surprised if some people in this current administration would like to!

How many now are considering voting for Chuck Baldwin or some other third party candidate?

April 30, 2010 - 8:15 pm 3 Comments

Now we know their is really no difference between the administration and the two (been leading) candidates. The bailout pitted all of them for the bailout while we the people flooded the Whitehouse and Congress with phone calls demanding no bailout. They refuse to balance our budget and follow their own agenda. Voting thrid party may not win but at least you spoke up.

Voting third party is just like not voting at all as much as I hate to say it, but more power to the people who DO vote third party because they’re still doing more than the people who sit on the butt on election day.

But I can’t help but wonder how you think Obama and McCain are the same as Bush? McCain, maybe, but how Obama? He’s polar opposite on nearly all of Bush’s views.
