I read that hes got alot more support on the internet than in society.
If our electoral system worked on passion, then Ron Paul would do as well, if not better, than any Republican (establishment) or Democratic candidate.
For example if your vote only counted if you were willing to do a crazy "Survivor" challenge (like eat a goat bladder or stand on a pole in the pouring rain for 6 hours), then Ron would stand a real chance, but with the simple fill-out a form voting process, he still loses handily, online or at a polling station.
Ron’s problem is he appeals to the sensible voter who doesnt polarize based on Party lines, and although he is a Republican in title, he cannot win the Repub nomination because he opposes many core Repub ideals and he could never be a Dem for the exact same reasons.
In a strict two party, polarized system like we have, people like Ron Paul, Ralph Nader, Dennis Kucinich, etc. (who actually make some sense and do not spout opinion poll hoo-hah) really cannot compete in any manner.
