Who are you voting for in the presidential election 2010 in the Philippines?

June 8, 2010 - 11:38 am 2 Comments

Hello. I’m just curious and whoever you voted for as the president please tell me why. My family members are voting for Dick Gordon because they said that he doesn’t look like money and he also has a lot of experience in the political world in Pilipinas.

Isn’t the election over already?

Perhaps you can Google who won?

this is for voting college students who attend in a different state?

June 2, 2010 - 8:00 pm 7 Comments

How do they handle your voting – do you have to use absentee ballots? Since you are in a different state have you gotten and Id for that state – so there for you just vote for that state?

It’s your choice.

You can register and vote in your home state as it’s your permanent residence if you want (Like some of my classmates did) in 04 or you can register in your current state (like I did) because if your attending school in that state you are allowed to register there.

It’s up to you, basically.

What is the point of voting if you don’t vote for a Democrat or a Republican?

May 30, 2010 - 11:55 pm 8 Comments

I am not very political, but it seems as if ones votes would pretty much be wasted if they were not for either a Dem or a Repub. What is the point of voting independent, etc?

Well they sometimes take enough votes away that one party doesn’t win. Supposedly Gore lost due to Ralph Nader and his party. If you notice the last three times the different parties got booted out due to crummy performance and the people got sick of what they were doing.

The Democrats get booted and then the Republicans get booted and now looks like the Democrats are about to get the boot again. Due to the "good ole boy" system and payoff deals and the money the two big time parties have it would be hard for someone to step up. When Ross Perot ran Clinton got 40 million votes and bush a few less, but he got 20 million, which were votes meant for the Republicans and he had the money on his own the run on.

Maybe someday it will happen. oNe other things is that our House and Senate members had donated to them over $3.2 billion* in 2008, you can use the search engine at the site below to see who got what, from whom and how they voted. That is a ton of money from the lobbyists and this year when the elderly and handicapped on fixed incomes are told there is no inflation, they will be getting a 10% raise! It has to stop and get back to doing what is good for the country and not corporations.

But the third party can pull some votes and make it hard for the Democrats or Republicans and maybe get what they want if one of the parties decide to embrace whatever they are pushing.

Happy New Year!

Who is everyone voting for for the AL outfielders in the 2008 all star game?

May 28, 2010 - 12:02 pm 17 Comments

I’m voting for Grady Sizemore of the Cleveland Indians. He’s 12th in the voting of AL outfielders even though hes a leadoff hitter and second in the AL in homeruns. And he’s one of the most underrated players in baseball. What do you think?

JACOBY ELLSBURY, JD DREW, MANNY RAMIREZ, COCO CRISP…..NOUGH SAID!

Battle at polls in Trinidad and Tobago snap vote

May 27, 2010 - 11:29 pm 19 Comments

Voters in Trinidad and Tobago are voting in snap elections which could bring the energy-rich Caribbean nation its first female prime minister. Incumbent Patrick Manning called the election — which follows the dissolution of parliament in April — a risky gamble in the middle of his five-year term. The opposition, led by Attorney General Kamla Persad-Bissessar at the head of a five-party coalition, led opinion polls ahead of the vote.Duration: 01:13

What is the voting procedure in the United States?

May 25, 2010 - 8:18 pm 10 Comments

Last night, I heard on the tv that "Americans have already started to vote". From what I know, the voting day is on the 4th.
- Do you vote on the same day or several days
- Do you get the day off from work or go to work after voting
- Is voting mandatory

In my country, we vote on Sundays.

Normally, everyone votes on the same day here in the USA, however, due to the nature of this election large crowds are expected so they’ve allowed advance voting in many states as well as mail-in ballots to cut down on long lines.
