The bass doesn't thump your body unless your like beside the speakers or what not. But in the clubs I go to, there's usually a place outside like a patio that is quieter. If it gets too loud, you can take a break there. Check with the club. As for the bass thumps, again it depends on the club you go to and what kind of music they're playing. I usually go to Salsa clubs so they don't have a lot of the heavy bass. But if they play a lot of the hip hop, it may start pounding, especially when you stand close to the speakers.
